Rustic Colorado Hacienda
When this 1970 ranch-style home came up for sale, the next-door neighbors jumped at the chance to buy it. The house was located on a beautiful piece of rural property and offered more space for the young family. Although the home had good bones, it suffered from garish 1970s finishes, including aqua blue stone veneer used on exterior and interior walls, country-scalloped trim on the original kitchen cabinets, and red carpeting throughout. We updated the dark and dated country house and transformed it into a rustic Colorado ranch home. Reclaimed rough-hewn beams, richly stained trim and cabinetry, hardwood flooring, handcrafted tiles, working-ranch décor, and the expansive front veranda, create a warm and welcoming western hacienda vibe.
