Barnhouse Homestead
When Miles and Emery wanted to build a sustainable, modern-day homestead on 35 acres of raw land, they called HighCraft Builders. Our team designed and built a comfortable 800-s.f. open-concept apartment stacked above an oversized garage with ample storage and workshop space. The home is as energy efficient as possible and maximizes passive solar heat. A covered second-story deck provides additional living space, and the attached 480-s.f. permaculture greenhouse allows the couple to eat what they grow all year long.
“We’re passionate about healthcare and nutrition and we love the idea of growing our own food,” Miles told Fort Collins Magazine in “On Gratitude Road,” a feature story about their modern barn home project with HighCraft.
