Aubrey Carson

Aubrey has a B.A. in Architecture from Auburn University in Alabama, and has been designing custom homes and commercial spaces in Northern Colorado for more than thirty years.

Aubrey has been part of the HighCraft family since 2017, partnering with us on multiple custom home projects. Today, we’re fortunate to call him a full-time member of our in-house team, dedicated to creating designs for new construction and remodeling projects exclusively for HighCraft. As our lead architectural designer, Aubrey applies his vast experience to residential projects of all sizes, creating one-of-a-kind designs for each client. He’s an exceptional listener, with the ability to translate a homeowner’s list of wants, needs and style ideas into meaningful, personalized living spaces. Aubrey appreciates HighCraft’s strong client focus, positive problem-solving spirit, and the collaborative approach of design-build construction.

“The minute a client begins working with HighCraft, they get a full-service team that is completely devoted to getting everything exactly right. It feels great to be part of that team.” – Aubrey

LIKES: Cooking. Sipping a good whiskey. Figuring out complicated roof lines. Hiking, fishing and backcountry skiing with his family. Visualizing how a new custom home will sit on the landscape. Collaboration.

DISLIKES: Driving in traffic. People who sit on their hands without a solution. Negative attitudes.

More than meets the eye:
Aubrey grew up in the Appalachian Highlands of northeastern Alabama where he spent a lot of time in nature. As a teenager, he went backpacking in the Colorado Rockies, which made a large and lasting impression on Aubrey. For his architectural thesis at Auburn University, he designed a youth camp on the Tennessee River with the goal of introducing children of all abilities and backgrounds to the joys of outdoor adventure. After graduating from college, Aubrey eventually moved to Denver, fulfilling his dream to live in Colorado. He soon moved to Fort Collins, where he and his wife raised their two sons. They are all avid hikers and snow skiers.
