Today’s April showers will bring May flowers … and the dirty job of cleaning wet paws, boots and jackets before they hit our clean floors and furniture.
A mudroom creates a practical buffer between the indoors and outdoors, and it provides smart storage, a way to contain messes, and a convenient place for pet supplies and cleanup.
Check out the following mudroom gallery for inspiration.
This mudroom/laundry combo (below) includes both open shelving and closed cabinetry, utility sink, bench, and a floor-to-ceiling custom storage unit with plenty of room to store boots and hang jackets.
Finishes like the river rock backsplash (above), railroad-spike hooks and corrugated metal with an oxidized patina add a custom rustic look.
The mudroom and laundry are side by side in this HighCraft remodel, making it easy to throw wet clothes straight into the washing machine. Built-in white cabinets provide added storage and a place to shed jackets, hats, shoes and backpacks.
Here’s another mudroom we built right off the laundry room for added convenience. Each family member has their own “locker” in the floor-to-ceiling storage cabinets, and there’s a generous folding counter and utility sink in the laundry.
This sunny mudroom offers open- and closed-cabinet storage, a bench to put on your shoes, and hooks to hang coats.
The pet station includes a hidden dog food bin …
… as well as hooks for dog leashes, a special place for food and water bowls, and a raised dog wash in the nearby multi-purpose room.
More built-in storage, open- and closed-cabinet storage, coat hooks and benches in this mudroom with durable and easy-to-clean flooring.
