Northern Colorado design-build company HighCraft Builders won the building industry’s 2016 Chrysalis Award for remodeling excellence. HighCraft led the winning project, but gladly admits it was a team effort.
Out of 425 remodeling projects across 40 states, HighCraft won the Chrysalis Award for the dramatic transformation of a patio home in Windsor. To clinch the title of National Winner in the Residential Specialty Item category, HighCraft shares credit with two local companies it collaborated with on the project’s massive custom metal wall: Raw Urth Designs and Kustom Theater Kreations.
HighCraft worked with artisans at Raw Urth to design, fabricate, finish and install the one-of-a-kind metal wall.
Kustom Theater Kreations integrated the 150-pound wall panels into a smart home automation system so the doors would glide along overhead steel tracks with the touch of a button.
This same HighCraft whole-house remodel also won Best Kitchen and Best Master Suite awards during the 2015 Parade of Homes sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Northern Colorado.
Since 1994, the Chrysalis Award has recognized the nation’s best work in residential and commercial remodeling. Entries are judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
The Chrysalis Award is sponsored by Qualified Remodeler magazine – the premier industry trade publication serving remodeling contractors.
HighCraft’s past Chrysalis Award wins include Historic Renovation (2005), Finished Basement (2004) and Addition Under $100,000 (2004).
