Dwight is heading over to Centennial High School this week to talk about career opportunities in the construction industry. And believe us, there are plenty right now.
So, what’s being done – locally, and at what age – to cultivate the next generation of craftspeople in our community?
There are loads of wonderful school-to-work service-learning programs available in our local schools, and one of the best examples is Loveland High School’s and Poudre High School’s Geometry in Construction class. This course offers so many great lessons for students in building skills, confidence, empathy and community – all critical tools of the trade.
Read more about it in Dwight’s and Bryan’s latest column “Construction at a hopeful place in Fort Collins.”
